Vertex Form

Anchor 1

Vertex Form is a equation that you can use to solve quadratic relations.

The equation to describe this is y=a(x-h)+k.

The value a gives you information on which way the graph faces and its shape.

The value h gives you information on the x value of the Vertex of the relation and the horizontal ntranslation from the origin.

Finally the value k gives you information on the y value of the Vertex and the vertical translation from origin.

   What Is
Vertex Form?
First and second differences can tell you if the data in the table given are part of a Quadratic relation or Linear relation
   Second Differences
Example
If you wanted to get any intercept, you would sub 0 into the oppossite variable. For example, to get the x-intercept you would want to sub y=0 and if you want to find the y-intercept you would sub x=0 into the equation.

Below I have a video clearly explaining what to do to get the x-intercepts/y-intercepts.
