     Factoring by DECOMP (Product and Sum) is when you have an equation of the form ax^2+bx+c and you want to convert it to Factored Form. 

     To start what you want to do is take the two values a and c and multiply them together. Then, with your answer, you will want to find a number that not only multiplies together to give you the product, but when you add the two numbers together they should give to the answer of the value b. 

Below I have an example on paper that will take you step by step on how to Factor by using DECOMP.
